Russia has begun to implement a plan to connect the Zaporizhzhya NPP to the Russian energy system and disconnect it from the Ukrainian one.
This was announced by Energoatom President Petr Kotin, writes Economic Truth .
Kotin explained that the Russians will try to disconnect the occupied regions of southern Ukraine from the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, and then lay the power grid from the Crimea.play video
“Rosatom personnel handed over to the station a special program for reconnecting the ZNPP to the Crimea. The prerequisite for this program is damage to the ZNPP communication lines with the energy system of Ukraine. In order to switch the ZNPP to the Crimea, it needs to put out the entire south of Ukraine – the occupied parts of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. This is spelled out in the program After that, they begin to heal the area again from the substation in Dzhankoy, gradually reach Kakhovskaya, and then heal the Zaporizhzhya NPP,” he said.
After that, it will no longer be possible to connect the Zaporizhzhya NPP to the Ukrainian energy system, it will remain on the Russian frequency.
“This is their plan, and they have begun to implement it,” Kotin summed up.
According to him, the implementation of this plan consists in the fact that three lines of the ZNPP were damaged within three days, and it is now working with the issuance of one line.
As UNIAN reported, on August 5, Russian invaders fired four times at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant . In particular, they hit a high-voltage communication line, it was damaged, emergency protection went off at one of the power units. Now this unit is unloaded and disconnected from the power grid.
After the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the invaders, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on countries to impose tough sanctions against the entire Russian nuclear industry.
