A number of Ukrainian cities were hit. In particular, in Konotop, the Russians targeted civilians.

On the night of May 20, Russian occupiers attacked a number of regions of Ukraine. The series of strikes resulted in casualties and destruction.

According to  the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Oleksandr Ganzha, the invaders attacked the Dnipro. A fire broke out in the city.

“Two people were injured in an enemy attack on the Dnipro. Both are hospitalized. The 40-year-old man is in serious condition. The 25-year-old victim is in moderate condition,” he said.

Later, Ganzha reported that the number of injured had increased to five. All were hospitalized. A man and a woman are in serious condition. Medics are providing the necessary assistance, he added.

As a result of Russian shelling, warehouses with food were damaged, the official said.

Updated at 07:07. As Ganzha specified , two people died and six were injured as a result of the Russian attack. Five of the injured have been hospitalized. Doctors assess the condition of three of them as serious.

Kharkiv

In addition, the Russian occupiers struck Kharkiv with a drone, and a 16-year-old girl was injured in the attack, notes  the head of the OVA, Oleg Synegubov.

“A strike by an enemy UAV was recorded in the Novobavarsky district. A 16-year-old girl was injured,” the official said.

The girl suffered an acute stress reaction. Doctors are providing assistance.

Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov added that a “Shahed” was recorded hitting the Kholodnohirsky district. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

Odesa

Also at night, the occupiers struck Odessa. Houses and cars were damaged, there is destruction, said Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odessa MVA.

“As a result of the massive enemy attack, several residential buildings and cars were damaged. A one-story building was completely destroyed,” he said.

Rescuers and all city services are already working on the scene, and an operational headquarters is being deployed. Information about the victims is currently being clarified.

Updated at 07:26. Lysak clarified that as of 7:00 it is known that in one of the districts of the city, after an enemy attack, a one-story building was completely destroyed, where the fire was extinguished, and in a multi-story building, a hit to the upper floors without detonation was recorded. Damage was also recorded in one of the city parks. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Infrastructure was also damaged, several cars and warehouses burned down. Municipal workers are already eliminating the consequences of the impacts and clearing the area of ​​debris.

Updated at 9:03. As UNIAN was informed by Inna Verba, a spokeswoman for the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the Russian armed forces massively attacked critical and civilian infrastructure in Odessa with strike drones. In particular, in addition to a private house, four floors of a 24-story building were damaged, fences, facades and broken windows were damaged in four private households, etc. A 59-year-old man who lived in one of the private houses was injured in the attack.

“He received bodily injuries… A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” Verba said.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region, rescuers worked simultaneously at several locations, eliminating the consequences of enemy strikes – fires broke out in a warehouse building where dishes were stored, and in houses. To eliminate the consequences that night, 86 rescuers and 20 units of fire and rescue equipment were involved from the State Emergency Service, as well as 4 people and a unit of equipment from the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine.

Konotop

On the night of May 20, the occupation forces also struck the city of Konotop. A high-rise building was hit, and people may be trapped under the rubble, according to the city’s mayor, Artem Semenikhin.

“There’s a high-rise building behind me. Part of it is gone. And there are people there,” the mayor said.

According to him, the district hospital was damaged. Windows were broken and doors were damaged. The museum was also destroyed.

According to Semenikhin, the Russians targeted civilian infrastructure and homes in Konotop. There were many casualties, the exact number is currently unknown.

Updated at 07:10. The National Police clarified that in just 24 hours, Russians killed four civilians in Sumy region. Another 9 people were injured.

During the day, Russian troops shelled 44 settlements in the region. Police and bomb disposal teams worked at the sites of the strikes.

Vilniansk

In the morning, the enemy attacked Vilniansk, Zaporizhia district. As reported by the head of the OVA Ivan Fedorov, the strike hit a private house. The house was destroyed, and a fire broke out after the hit. 

The blast wave and debris damaged a car and neighboring houses. Four people were injured: a man, a woman, and two children – a 2-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. All are receiving necessary assistance.
