Russia has launched a massive attack on Odessa: large-scale fires have broken out, and parts of the city are without power

A hangar with agricultural machinery, a four-story building of an industrial enterprise, a gas station and a car dealership were damaged and destroyed.

Yesterday, March 7, the Russian army launched a massive drone strike on Odessa, large-scale fires broke out in the city, and more than a thousand people were left without power.

As UNIAN correspondent reports, late in the evening of March 7, an air raid alarm was declared, the enemy attacked the city with drones. Explosions and gunfire were heard for a long time in different parts of the city. People reported a large-scale fire on social networks.

The information was later confirmed. In particular, as reported by the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a massive drone attack took place in Odessa.

According to the investigation, on the evening of March 7, the Russian armed forces attacked Odessa with attack drones, preliminarily of the “Shahed-136” type. The objects of the city’s energy and civil infrastructure were under attack.

“A hangar with agricultural machinery, a four-story building of an industrial enterprise, a gas station, a car shop, a service station, a car dealership and at least 8 cars were damaged and destroyed. Almost 1,500 local residents were left without electricity due to the enemy attack. The full list of destruction and damage is being established,” the department said.

Law enforcement officers are currently documenting the consequences of the attack. An investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The regional headquarters of the State Emergency Service also confirmed that large-scale fires broke out – a hangar with agricultural machinery, a service station building, an auto shop, solar panels stacked in an open area, the aforementioned industrial building, and the like.

According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or injuries. The fires were extinguished by the State Emergency Service rescuers, the fire unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Odessa City Council unit and volunteers.
