Russia is taking advantage of a window of opportunity when Ukraine has completely exhausted its stock of anti-ballistic missile interceptors . Putin can now destroy any target he deems necessary, British military analyst Michael Clarke said in a commentary on Sky News .

He noted that in recent weeks the Russians have been particularly furious at Kyiv with ballistic missiles that the Ukrainians simply cannot technically intercept. Clark gives an example of the last such attack, when the Defense Forces shot down 90% of Russian drones and not a single ballistic missile. That is, all the ballistic missiles hit there, the Russians launched them, the expert emphasizes.

“These attacks will undoubtedly continue as long as the Russians can continue them, because the Russians know the same thing that Zelensky has made clear to all of us – that Ukraine is sorely lacking in ammunition that can shoot down ballistic missiles,” Clark stressed.

The expert added that the Russians are using not only their existing ballistic missiles, but also North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles.

“Putin knows he has a window of opportunity where ballistic missiles will hit pretty much everything they’re aimed at, and there’s little Ukrainians can do about it. He’s looking to give Ukraine a really terrible winter, and Zelensky is saying to the rest of us: are you going to stand by and let this happen? Next year things might be better for Ukraine, but this year, this winter, they have a real problem, and Putin knows it,” the analyst noted.

  1. This is not Ukraine’s weakness, it’s the weakness of our so-called allies that are hoarding Patriot missiles.
