Russia has failed a test of the RS-28 Sarmat ballistic missile

Russia failed new tests of the RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile.

A user of the X social media, MeNMyRC, reported on this, referring to satellite images of one of the Russian missile silos.

An attempt by the Russian nuclear deterrent forces to test a new intercontinental ballistic missile on September 21, 2024, ended in complete failure and a fire at the launch site.

The published satellite images capture a large gap that appeared as a result of the ballistic missile fall.

It is not yet clear what caused the accident. Since the Sarmat missile has a liquid-fueled rocket engine, there could have been an incident with its detonation, resulting in a chasm.

It is also possible that the missile fell during the launch attempt. Four fire trucks can be spotted on the satellite image.

It is worth noting that, considering this incident, Russia has managed to successfully execute only 1 out of 5 launches of the RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental missile – on April 20, 2022.

Additional evidence of the launch failure may be a fire in the immediate vicinity of the missile silo, indicating that the Russians attempted to launch the missile.

According to some experts, the fire was caused by a malfunctioning rocket engine and its fall, which caused such destruction of the rocket launch site and a fire in the forest.

The RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile is being positioned by the Russian Ministry of Defense as a new step in the nuclear deterrent.

The missile entered service in 2023, but since then, all attempts to test-fire operationally-ready missiles have failed.

Militarnyi previously reported that Russia failed tests of Yars and Bulava nuclear ballistic missile launches.

  1. One of the kremlin clowns claimed this missile would reach Europe in 3 minutes, it didn’t even leave the launch site. Yet the West tremble every time the terrorists roll out the word, nuke. I think we can all see that the russian threats are even emptier than previously thought.

    • I’m frustrated with the West. I just don’t get it. Are they idiots, cowards, don’t understand or don’t care what history has shown, greed, could be self interest, don’t understand the threat and the list goes on. I just don’t get it.

    • Hi,
Could I trouble you to see if any of my comments are “binned” or pending approval? I tried to comment on another post about Dr. Gerdes at least 4 times, and none showed up, but another comment of mine on the same post did.

      Thanks…

  2. Let me guess, it was hit by debris of a UAV gunned down by the brave ruzzian air defense. Huge success!
