On the night of February 3, the Russian Federation dealt the most powerful blow to the energy sector since the beginning of the year, reports the DTEK Telegram channel.
It is noted that power generation and distribution facilities came under enemy attack.
“Strikes hit combined heat and power plants (CHPs) operating in heating mode in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. A DTEK facility in the Odesa region was also attacked with missiles and drones,” the statement noted.
The company adds that as a result of the Russian attack, thousands of people were left without power.
DTEK also reminds that due to the consequences of the latest Russian attack on the energy sector, parts of Kyiv’s Left Bank—specifically the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts—have been forced to switch to emergency power outages. Meanwhile, temporary hourly power outage schedules are in effect in the Right Bank.
“The power grid is operating with significant limitations. Power engineers are doing everything possible to stabilize power supply to the affected areas,” DTEK concluded.
