The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on numerous media statements about the impending armed invasion of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

In a statement, the department says that the West, using authoritative media, deliberately “escalates the situation and sows frank disinformation to the masses.”

“We can talk about the conspiracy of the authorities of Western countries and the media in order to escalate artificial tension around Ukraine through a massive and coordinated stuffing of false information in geopolitical interests, in particular, in order to divert attention from their own aggressive actions,” the agency said in a statement.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the international community is forming “a false image of Moscow as the initiator of military aggression.”

“The media, contrary to the standards of honest journalism, spread outright disinformation, engaged in manipulations in order to introduce the thesis of Moscow’s aggressive intentions into public opinion. At the same time, detailed and reasoned explanations of Russian officials were ignored, in particular, repeated assurances of Russia’s commitment to a peaceful diplomatic settlement of the crisis,” – said the department.

Western journalists who publish disturbing materials have been accused by Russian diplomats of violating ethical and professional standards, as well as of “fulfilling a political order” aimed at demonizing Russia.

Russian threat and evacuation from Ukraine:

In January 2022, the US State Department authorized the voluntary departure of its employees and ordered the departure of their family members from the embassy in Kiev. It was noted that such a decision was made due to the threat of military actions by Russia.

The United States Embassy urged American citizens not to travel to Ukraine due to the threat of a Russian invasion and the coronavirus pandemic.

On February 10, US President Joe Biden warned Americans who remained in Ukraine that they must leave the country immediately as Russia continues to threaten to invade.

On February 11, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia could launch a new invasion of Ukraine at any time, including during the Winter Olympics. Blinken noted that Washington continues to reduce the number of staff at the US embassy in Ukraine and reiterated the State Department’s call for all Americans in Ukraine to leave the country immediately.

On February 11, US President Joe Biden held an online meeting  with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the leaders of the Alliance member states, as well as the leadership of the European Union.

Also on February 11, a number of countries called on their citizens to leave the territory of Ukraine . Among them – Latvia, South Korea, Norway, Great Britain, Denmark, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Estonia.

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan urged US citizens to leave Ukraine within 48 hours. He warned the Americans that if they stayed in Ukraine, they would run the risk that there would then be no way out and no prospect of the US evacuating with military assistance.

On February 12, 2022, Germany called on its citizens  to leave Ukraine .

“As one soldier to another: are you going to attack Ukraine?
    Shoygu: “No.”
    Trouble is that Russians lie.

    • I think Putin has already achieved his goals. He damaged Ukraine’s economy and embarrassed the West. This could influence future elections in Ukraine significantly. Ukrainians will not keep a very positive image of the West in the long run, and Biden is to blame. This fossil is a total non-starter.

      • Indeed, Mike, if one thing was made very clear during this crisis, it’s who were Ukraine’s true friends and who turned out to be backstabbers and spineless cowards. I hope that the Ukrainian people will learn out of this and draw the right conclusions when next they vote.
