russian banks shut a record number of branches in 4 years, including 1700 in 2025 alone, according to Izvestia. Sberbank had to close 900 branches, including those in remote regions of the RF. Until now many of them survived due to the compensations from the so-called national wealth fund, but it maybe be completely exhausted soon, according to Gazprom officials.
