This has been one of the worst weeks for Russia’s oil industry since the full-scale invasion. Even Reuters are now reporting serious disruption after strikes hit key Baltic export ports like Primorsk and Ust-Luga, which are absolutely critical for getting Russian oil out to sea.
And timing is everything here.
Oil prices have been rising because of the war in Iran, which should have been a moment for Russia to cash in and make more money from exports.
Instead, Ukraine has hit the infrastructure that actually allows that oil to leave the country.
So even if the damage isn’t permanent, the impact is immediate. Russia relies heavily on oil and gas for its state revenue, and any slowdown hits them straight away.
It also comes at a moment where global markets are already unstable, which makes it much harder to pin rising prices on Ukraine.
So this isn’t random. This is targeted pressure at exactly the moment it hurts most.

Europe is possibly in more extreme danger politically than militarily.

All under the control of the trumputler alliance.
The extirpation of the Putin wing of the GOP is becoming a global priority.
A ground war seems likely in Iran. That could run for a long time and could cause a global meltdown.
I disagree with Jake that Krasnov is motivated only by money.
I think he is motivated also by ideology. He’s made it clear who his heroes are : they are all fascist dictators.

When the night seems darkest, dawn is not far.
The fat ugly toad will not win. Fico will also be out when Slovakia votes. Germany will not see the AfD as the ruling party. And in November, expect a blue wave in the U.S. midterms, giving Congress powers again to curtail his powers or even to oust the orange bandit.
I agree with Jake about not trusting many of our fellow citizens. It’s frightening to see them supporting a guy who is a glaring bandit and speaks in gutter language. They have no morals, no credibility, no dignity, and no brains. Just what any wannabe dictator needs.
