Today, April 17, the Russian army launched strikes on Kherson and Nikopol. The attacks resulted in deaths and at least ten civilians were injured.
As reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office , Russian servicemen attacked Kherson at around 10:30 a.m. It was previously recorded that civilian objects were hit by three guided aerial bombs and artillery. Investigators have launched an investigation into the fact of a war crime:

“As of 1:00 p.m., a 61-year-old man was killed as a result of combined shelling, and five people are known to have been injured. Among them is a teenager. Apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.”
During the telethon, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, clarified that a boy who turned 16 today was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for his life in the operating room – he has an open head injury.
Prokudin added that the enemy’s tactics are to drop KABs and then fire artillery and drones. According to him, there are no military facilities or even critical civilian infrastructure in the areas where the flights were made and nearby. “This is simply terrorizing the population,” the official stressed.
According to the head of the Kherson city military administration, Roman Mrochko, Russian aircraft struck the Central district of the city. In addition to the boy, two men born in 1997 and 1966 were injured, and a 56-year-old man also received a mine-explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to the chest.
“Police officers took a 63-year-old Kherson resident to the hospital, who was injured as a result of enemy shelling of the Central District. The man received a mine-explosive injury.”
And the head of the Dnipropetrovsk OVA, Serhiy Lysak, said that two men, aged 56 and 61, were killed in Nikopol due to a Russian attack. The Russians killed them by shelling the city with heavy artillery. Five more people were injured, four of them in serious condition.
“A fire broke out. A store, cafe, private houses, outbuildings, cars, and a bus stop were damaged,” Lysak reported.
Updated at 17:55 : The press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated that the number of killed and injured has increased. People died due to Russian attacks by aviation, artillery, including jets, and drones.
As of 5:00 p.m., four people were killed and 17 injured in Kherson, Antonivka, and Romashkovo. Among the injured are a teenager who was hospitalized in serious condition, as well as a paramedic and an ambulance driver. Most civilians were injured by drone shells, some by airstrikes on the regional center, and one person by artillery shelling:
“At around 2:00 p.m., the occupiers attacked a road service vehicle near Beryslav with a UAV. Men aged 35 and 44 were killed. Two more people received injuries incompatible with life as a result of an airstrike on Kherson.”
