Romanians 🇷🇴 fighting Russians on Russian territory
This wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card 🤯
☝️ This is the Battlegroup ‘Getica’ from #Romania
Romanian volunteers originally active in #Ukraine
They now joined the fight in Belgorod alongside the Free Russia Legion, the Siberian Battalion, and the Russian Volunteer Corps in their fight against the Moscow regime.
💥 They’re fighting in towns, riding vehicles, scouting forests and exchanging fire. At the end, we see #drone footage of russian forces surrendering, waving a white flag.
Along with the video came statements: 💬
“This time the Empire does not counterattack, the Empire defends itself. It appears disorderly, panicked, in chaos.
I served them their own recipe for scorched earth, in their garden, and it seems that they have no stomach to digest it. We will continue to serve it to them!
We sleep in forests, in impossible conditions, without running water, without heat. But we feel your warmth, of the free Romanians. We returned to the ancestral condition of our ancestors, we merged with the forest, we became wolves. And we love what we do.
We will come back with posts as much as time, service secrecy and the precarious conditions in the area will allow.
The important thing is that we are alive and we continue to stay in the fight.

They point out that local russian authorities have already fled:
“…With a deep sense of civic responsibility, we tried to surrender and comply with those search warrants issued by the Russian Federation.
We checked their border villages but found no functional police stations and no authorities to surrender to.
Russia is prepared for nuclear war but is unable to protect its land borders with a state it is at war with.”

Indeed! I hope that Ukraine is doing everything possible to support these guys. It would be a change of pace for once if the rest of Europe would do the same. Though, I think the chicken coop is afraid of anything happening on mafia soil.
