Dmitry Zhivitsky, chairman of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, announced this in a video message regarding the results of March 7.
“It was very uneasy in the Sumy region… There were also losses among our teroboronists: our guys fought a whole column of enemy equipment, their car was shot, there are wounded and, unfortunately, four young guys died in an unequal battle with the Russian military,” – Zyvitsky said.
He stressed that an air raid had taken place in the evening.
“There was an air bombardment of the suburbs of the city of Sumy. Residential buildings were bombed in some settlements. And just almost in the center of the city of Sumy, on Romenskaya Street, several houses were destroyed by a bomb hit. Completely wiped off the face of the earth. These are private houses. There are dead. Unfortunately , there are dead children. And the count of the dead is already going on – more than 10 people,” the head of the UVA said.
On his Facebook page , Zhivitsky specified that after 23:00 on March 7, enemy Russian aircraft bombed residential areas in Sumy and Akhtyrka, and also destroyed houses in the village of Bititsa.
“Information on the dead and wounded is constantly being updated. The State Emergency Service is clearing rubble and putting out fires. Medics are working. We are saving lives. This is how the Russian world really looks. We will never forgive this,” the chairman of the OVA wrote.
