Since the morning and during the night of December 22, the sky defenders destroyed 52 Russian strike drones over Ukraine, another 44 enemy drones were imitations and were lost without consequences. The aggressor also struck with a ballistic missile, in total, damage was recorded in six regions due to its actions.
Air defense was operating in 12 regions. The command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that another Russian air attack, which had been going on since 09:00 on Saturday, December 21, had been repelled.
It is noted that the Russian Federation launched 103 Shahed strike drones and other types of UAVs into Ukraine from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Berdyansk. The launch of an Iskander-M ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea towards the Kherson region was also recorded.
As of 10:00 on Sunday, anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 52 enemy drones in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhia regions.
Due to the active countermeasures of the Defense Forces, 44 Russian simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences), one UAV flew towards Belarus.
“In Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions, private enterprises, apartment buildings and property of citizens were damaged due to the Russian attack. There were no casualties so far, assistance is being provided to the victims,” the report says.
On the night of December 22, 12 enemy UAVs were shot down by air defense units in the sky over Sumy region, and four drones were neutralized over Cherkasy region.
In the Kyiv region, debris from an enemy drone hit the roof of a 25-type roof in Brovary, causing a fire. The windows of another house and a car were also damaged.
As OBOZ.UA reported, during the enemy attack on the night of December 21, the Defense Forces shot down 57 out of 113 Russian drones, the remaining 57 UAVs were lost in the field without consequences. At the same time, the invaders struck with an S-400 missile in the direction of Poltava region.

My guess is that each and every missile and attack drone contains Western components. Maybe less than usual, but still enough to make them usable.
I’m a bit confused about the drones that “got lost”. How do they know they were decoys? They could’ve been shoddily built attack drones. I know from previous reports that many enemy drones are combated with EW. For some reason, the AFU is being a bit more secretive, so it seems.
