On the night of June 15, Russia launched a massive attack on Kharkiv . Rescuers were working at the sites of the attacks when the occupiers launched follow-up strikes, Interior Minister Igor Klimenko reported .
“In Kharkiv, five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed while extinguishing a fire as a result of a second Russian strike. At least five more were wounded. My condolences to the families of the fallen unarmed heroes. Unfortunately, we continue to lose those who save lives,” Klimenko said.
According to the minister, Kyiv bore the brunt of Russia’s massive attack. There has been significant damage to civilian infrastructure. The necessary services have been deployed to deal with the aftermath.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, meanwhile, reported explosions in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of the city. A fire at a civilian facility and injuries were reported.
