On the afternoon of June 5, the Russian occupation army launched a ballistic missile strike on the Odessa region, hitting an important infrastructure facility and injuring civilians. 

As UNIAN was told by Inna Verba, a spokeswoman for the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, nine civilians were injured in the hostile attack: men aged 19-63. All the victims are currently in the hospital.

“Eight of the injured have moderate injuries, a 61-year-old man is in serious condition. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the facts of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” Verba emphasized.

According to Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, two ballistic missiles with cluster warheads hit an infrastructure facility that provides critical logistics for the Odessa region.

“These are people who ensured the operation of the transport network and performed their daily duties,” Kuleba emphasized.

According to him, all victims are being provided with assistance. The consequences of the strikes are being eliminated. All relevant services are working on the ground.

Kuleba added that this afternoon the Russian army attacked an enterprise in the Kyiv region that produced dairy products for children. Four people were killed there. Road equipment, unique for Ukraine, that was used at this facility was also damaged.
