Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Vinnytsia were hit.

As a result of the attack by Russian drones in Lviv, residential buildings and an architectural monument were damaged, many were injured. There were deaths in Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Updated at 19:23. The number of injured in Lviv continues to grow . According to the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, there are already 17 injured in hospitals. 

Firefighters are extinguishing a fire in one of the houses. Residents are being prepared for evacuation.

The mayor added that during today’s hit, a residential building in Sykhiv was damaged for the second time during the war, but from a different side.

According to the head of the Vinnytsia OVA, Natalia Zabolotna, one person was killed and 11 were injured as a result of the massive attack on the Vinnytsia region. 

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhiy Morgunov clarified that a 59-year-old man died as a result of the attack on the city. Of the 11 wounded, six were hospitalized, five received medical assistance and were sent for outpatient treatment. 

The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Marcinkiv, noted that two people died as a result of the enemy attack on the city.

“Today in Ivano-Frankivsk there was an attempt to strike an administrative building. Unfortunately, there are damaged windows in the maternity hospital, everyone is alive and unharmed. They were provided with all kinds of assistance, two women are in the process of giving birth,” he said.

The mayor said that among the dead was a National Guardsman whose wife gave birth in the maternity ward a few days ago. There are also injured people, including a child. Her life is currently out of danger.

Updated at 18:03 . According to  Sadovy, the number of wounded in Lviv has increased to 13.

In turn, the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytsky, said that as a result of the attack on the regional center, an architectural monument of national importance was damaged – the Bernardine Monastery Ensemble. It is located in the historical area of ​​Lviv, an object that is included in the International List of Cultural Properties under Enhanced Protection. 

“The fire has engulfed the buildings adjacent to the complex. The extent of the damage will be determined by specialists. There are critical infrastructure facilities in the Komarnivska and Dobrosynsko-Maherivska communities,” he added.

Previously, the mayor of Lviv reported damage to two residential buildings as a result of the attack, one of them in the city center. 

The Lviv OVA also announced an “arrival” in the central part of Lviv.

“According to preliminary information, UNESCO heritage has been damaged,” the report says. 

Shahed attack on Lviv

According to the head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytsky, as a result of an attack by enemy drones in Lviv, residential buildings on Soborna Square and Chervonoy Kalyna Street caught fire. Also, as a result of falling UAV debris, a private house in the village of Sernyki, Bibrsk territorial community, caught fire.

Russian troops also attacked Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, and Ternopil with drones.

Enemy attacks on Lviv

On March 18, Russian occupation forces struck Lviv with a drone . The Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region was attacked.

According to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky, the strike caused destruction.
