Russia invited food and other types of assistance from China , including military and financial, as part of the war against Ukraine.

This is reported by CNN , citing sources familiar with the situation.

Specifically, Russia is asking China for packaged, non-perishable food parcels, known in the US as “ready-to-eat” or MREs.

It is noted that, according to military analysts and officials, such a request highlights the main logistical problems that impede the advancement of the Russian occupation forces in Ukraine, and casts doubt on the fundamental readiness of the Russian military.

One CNN source suggested that the food could be a request that China would be willing to accommodate as it does not provide for lethal aid, which would be seen as a provocation by the West.

It is noted that China has expressed a certain openness to provide Russia with the requested military and financial assistance, but it is not yet clear whether he is going to do this.

The two officials said China’s desire to avoid the economic fallout could limit its willingness to help Russia. Officials separately told CNN that Chinese leader Xi Jinping was concerned about how the war in Ukraine had revitalized the NATO alliance.

  1. That’s really something for a country with lots of land and lots of crops to be asking a country without a lot of crops to help you feed your army. If I was China I think I would laugh and ask for Siberia.

  2. What an idiot country! They simply can’t get ANYTHING right! That can only be good for Ukraine!
