Director of the Russian Central Economics and Mathematics Institute (CEMI) Albert Bakhtizin believes that the aggressor country Russia is in such a bad situation with the population that it is necessary to conduct a “special demographic operation” (SDO). He told the Interfax agency about this in an interview published on August 31.
“Our population decline is catastrophic: we are losing 500-600 thousand people a year, and this poses a threat to national security, given the size of the territory, given the need for a significant number of people to maintain the growth rates necessary for the economy,” Bakhtizin said.
He admitted that it is impossible to easily solve the problem of increasing the Russian Federation’s population, which is why a “special demographic operation” is necessary.
The director of CEMI never mentioned the war between Russia and Ukraine, due to which the aggressor country continues to lose its population at an average rate of 1 thousand people per day (including the dead and wounded).
Instead of the option to stop aggression against Ukraine, Bakhtizin, in particular, voiced the option of “correcting reproductive attitudes” and raising the birth rate in the Russian Federation by 40–50%.
