Lavrov lamented that Paris allegedly demands that Ukraine wage the war to a victorious end and defeat Russia.

“This only shows that all our many years of appeals to the West with a call to negotiate on an equal footing were not only not heard, but deliberately ignored,” he said.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also continued to spread the myth of Russian propaganda about allegedly inciting nationalism and neo-Nazism in Ukraine and said that “France plays one of the initiative roles.”

“We are sad to see this,” Lavrov stated.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that French President Emmanuel Macron was trying to succeed in mediating between Ukraine and Russia, offering him sovereignty concessions . The Ukrainian leader resolutely rejected this proposal.

Since the full-scale invasion of Russia and Ukraine, Macron has repeatedly held telephone conversations with Putin. In this regard, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged him not to negotiate on the terms of the Russian Federation.
