Marco Rubio said that there is currently no energy deal. According to him, the war will end through negotiations, not a military victory.
There is “currently no” agreement on an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia, and the war will end “through negotiations,” not through a “military victory.” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this in an interview with WABC Radio, distributed by the State Department on September 22, UNN reports.
On the energy truce
“The latest news is that we don’t have an agreement right now. But it makes sense. This war is not good for either side. Obviously, it is not good for Ukraine, and it is terrible for Russia. I mean, they are not doing well in this war. They’re just not. So it makes sense to stop it. But unfortunately, in foreign policy and in matters like this, sometimes what makes sense does not necessarily happen,” Rubio said, commenting on the issue of an “energy agreement.”
The U.S. Secretary of State continued: “So the President said that we will continue to remain in a position — wherever we have an opportunity to change the situation and bridge the gap between these two sides, the President is prepared to do so. And we will continue to try to do that. But obviously, that is not where we are right now, today. I hope that changes, and I think ultimately it will.”
What Rubio said about ending the war
This war will end someday, and the war in Ukraine will end through negotiations. That is exactly how it will end, okay. It will not end with some decisive military victory by one side or the other. It will end through negotiations. And the sooner that happens, the fewer people will die and the less destruction there will be- Rubio said.
“So that is where we are prepared to play some role. We continue to engage with both sides,” Rubio added.
In this context, he mentioned the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump on September 22, as well as the recent visits by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to moscow and Kyiv.
“We will continue to remain engaged and always look for an opportunity or a chance to change something and bring this matter to a conclusion,” the U.S. Secretary of State noted.

The Cuban turncoat could make a small contribution to ending the war by stopping licking Krasnov’s shrunken gonads.
When he was running for president in 2015, he published “The Rubio Doctrine” : a statesmanlike document that set out his objectives. He was firm, principled and decisive on putler; the exact opposite of what he is now.
I posted it at the time, but am unable to locate it. There is no archive search capability on WP.
Even finding relatively recent articles results more often than not with :
“Whoops, that article cannot be found.”

Thank you Larry.
To quote the late Queen Elizabeth II speaking about her shitty grandson : “some recollections may vary”
My recollection is that he was much stronger on putler than this document. It seems I was wrong. Nevertheless, it was a great pity that Krasnov defeated him. Things would not have been so catastrophic if he had won before Krasnov had time to work on him and corrupt him into the worm he is today.
He’s a politician which means he’s a worm without backbone.
How to say a lot without saying anything. Not one word about pressuring mafia land.
Always amazes me how these so called political leaders are so verbose on a situation they have absolutely no idea or history of the conflict. Hey Rubio get your head out of your butt and read and honor the 1994 Budapest agreement, asshole
I can no longer log in with my old profile. So i won’t post any articles no more until someone finally invites me. 😤🤮😖
51 countries back Ukraine in joint statement calling for Black Sea initiative as world gathers for UN General Assembly
Fifty-one countries have backed Ukraine in a joint statement condemning Russia and calling for Black Sea passage as the U.N. Security Council meets, the EU’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, said Sept. 23, against the backdrop of the U.N. General Assembly.
“As the Security Council meets to discuss the situation in Ukraine, we reaffirm our shared commitment to the principles of the U.N. Charter and peace. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine as it continues to face Russia’s war of aggression,” Kallas said.
A Russian blockade of Ukraine’s Black Sea ports has hindered Ukraine’s agricultural exports, threatening food security. Russia has regularly targeted civilian ships traveling to Ukrainian ports, including a Tanzania-flagged vessel in the Black Sea on Sept. 17, killing the ship’s captain and injuring three crew members.
Most European nations, alongside Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Honduras, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Panama, and South Korea, are among those joining the statement.
“We are deeply concerned by Russia’s escalation against civilians and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine, causing a record-high number of casualties in the last months, as recorded by the U.N.,” Kallas said.
All 51 countries called on Russia to respect international humanitarian law, protect civilians, and be held accountable.
“We are particularly concerned by the attacks in the Black Sea. Russia is trying to choke off Ukrainian grain exports, thus jeopardizing global food security. We therefore support efforts towards an arrangement in the Black Sea to safeguard freedom of navigation and call for the protection of commercial shipping and critical infrastructure,” she said.
In a post to X, Kallas also noted that Ukraine has agreed to an unconditional ceasefire since March 2025 and called on Russia to do the same.
“Ukraine wants peace. We want peace. Russia must stop its aggression, accept a ceasefire, and engage meaningfully in negotiations towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with international law,” she added.
