US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will not participate in talks in London aimed at finding ways to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, as “Kyiv has made it clear that it will reject a key point in the Trump administration’s proposal to end the three-year conflict,” CNN writes .

Rubio was reportedly scheduled to participate in talks with Ukrainian, British, and European officials, but State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said he would not attend “for logistical reasons.”

The US will reportedly be represented in his place by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg. According to a source familiar with the plan, the proposal includes recognition of Russian control over temporarily occupied Crimea.

“Any recognition of Russian control over Crimea would be a radical reversal in US policy over the past decade. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made it clear that he is open to negotiations with Russia, but Kyiv will not approve an agreement that recognizes Moscow’s control over Crimea,” the material states.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine does not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea, as it “contradicts our Constitution.”

  1. Here’s a very fair counteroffer that Ukraine could make in the present ghastly circumstances :

    “You can have Crimea.
Provided you get the fuck out of everywhere else and leave us alone forever.”

In a fairer world it should not be necessary to make any concessions to child-murdering nazis. But since the US now has a regime that favours child-murdering nazis, what else can they do?
