The bridge will replace the previous wooden structure in the city of Sziget-Marmac and will have the effect of opening up the county to cross-border trade and transport.

Previously, the traffic between the two countries in the district was carried out by a wooden bridge in the border town of Sziget-Marmaty, built in 2000. The new bridge will consist of two parallel 260-meter structures, with two lanes of traffic in each direction.

The cost of the project will be about 30 million euros.

The bridge is planned to be built in two years.
