Rocket attack on Poltava: the number of dead has increased to 53, injured – to 298

As a result of a rocket attack on an educational institution in Poltava, 53 people were killed and another 298 were injured. This is reported by the State Emergency Service.

“53 people were killed as a result of an enemy attack on an educational institution in Poltava,” the message reads.

According to the State Emergency Service, the number of victims has increased to 298 people. Up to five people may be under the rubble.

It is noted that rescue services continue to work taking into account the safety component.

The State Emergency Service added that as a result of the attack, the six-story building of the educational building was partially destroyed, three apartment buildings, five private houses and an office building were damaged.

Rocket attack on Poltava on September 3 – details

On September 3, the Russians attacked Poltava with two ballistic missiles, as a result of which the six-story building of the educational institution was partially destroyed.

As of the evening, it was known about the death of 51 people and more than 270 injured.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the military law enforcement service is maximally involved in the investigation of the Russian attack on Poltava.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, noted that at the time of the Russian attack on the Institute of Communication in Poltava, there were no formations .

A three-day mourning period has been announced in Poltava.
