A 23-year-old American volunteer, Robert Edward Pietrangelo – “Bobby” from Pennsylvania, a pupil of the US Boy Scouts, died in the battles for Ukraine.
This was reported by Yuriy Yuzych, Censor.NET reports .

Bobby aspired to serve in the US Marine Corps, like his older brother, but due to a serious kidney disease he was unable to pass the medical examination. He arrived in Ukraine in 2022. At first he carried humanitarian aid, and last year he officially joined the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Bobby fought in several directions, and after suffering a severe concussion as a result of a drone strike, he refused to leave the battlefield: “I will not return home until the war is over.” In October 2024, he was wounded and awarded the Iron Cross for Distinguished Bravery.
He died in the battle near Pokrovsky on January 2 of this year.

“The mother, who came to Ukraine to look for her son, never found his body. On July 26, family, friends, scouts, as well as the former Hetman’s scoutmaster and now Metropolitan Borys Hudziak held a memorial service for Bobi,” Yuzych reported.
