The Dnipro River transported 5.4 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2021, which is 63.9% or 1.9 million tons more than in the same period of 2020.

According to the river information service of Ukraine, during 6 months of the current year 6,433 flights were made, against 3,299 flights in 2020 (+ 95%).

The main share of cargo was construction cargo, the volume of transportation of which increased by 133.5% and reached 3.71 million tons.

In second place – grain cargo, their volume of transportation decreased compared to last year by 5.4% and amounted to 1.13 million tons.

“Besides, metal products are actively transported along the river. For 6 months of 2021, the volume of metal transportation reached 603.9 thousand tons, which is 9.6% less than was transported by river in the same period in 2020, “- said in a statement AMPU.
