The administration of the Danylo Halytskyi Lviv International Airport
is studying the possibilities of opening civilian flights before the end of martial law. But the main condition for achieving this goal is ensuring security.
This was reported by the press service of the air harbor. The airport noted that they continue to provide civilian infrastructure even during a full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, when it is not in operation.
” We are studying the possibility of opening civil aviation flights during martial law, provided that all safety requirements for aircraft, passengers, and infrastructure are met,” the report says.
To this end, the management of Lviv Airport constantly holds meetings with international partners, experts, aviation industry participants, airlines, government organizations, international aviation safety organizations and airport associations to study and find ways to restore civil aviation in Ukraine . In this regard, aviation experts have developed an operational document for the evacuation of passengers. In addition, training on evacuation procedures is regularly conducted.
Also, during the martial law, the airport optimized its staffing. As a result, the airport’s service personnel now consists of 30% of the staff until February 22, 2022.
“The remaining employees maintain the appropriate level of qualification and will be ready to provide high-quality service to a small number of flights when flights resume,” the press service explained.
Earlier at the Kyiv International Economic Forum, Crispin Ellison, a senior partner at risk management firm Marsh McLennan, said that civil aviation flights in Ukraine could resume by the end of January 2025. It is expected that 5 or 6 companies will operate them. If this happens, one airport will be opened – either Lviv or Boryspil.

I seem to be the only one on here who brings such articles time and again. 😂 Can you tell that I want to fly to Ukraine again?
Can’t say I noticed……
