Rep. Jim Jordan Loses Third Consecutive Vote for House Speaker

Jordan is flogging a dead horse here. The first vote he received 200 votes, then 199 votes, today he managed 194. Surely the GOP can find a suitable candidate and put an end to this circus.

  1. There is no one that enough people will get behind to make him speaker. McCarthy was typical of the idiots the GOP left wants to have in the slot.

The Democrats understand the problem in the GOP, an went along with the ouster of McCarthy so they sit back and pop some popcorn an enjoy the show. The party establishment (GOPe) hates people like Jordan and Gaetz, and the same establishment has shown why voters hate them. It doesn’t help that the GOPe hates the voters.

        • What are you 12 years old, because I spoke about your candidate??

          Patient regarding what, exactly?

Long before the 2024 election was ever in the mindset of voters, CTH pointed out the specific moves the people who control Nikki Haley were taking in 2018 {GO DEEP}. It wasn’t difficult to predict, because Haley followed the Bush plan to an exacting measure.

The BUSH PLAN is the five-year roadmap that modern Republican consultants use to position their principal in the approved Republican lane. “This ‘Five Year Plan‘ was the same historic approach done for Ronald Reagan. With a candidate in the private sector, the professional donor-class make investments in the candidate while it is legal to do so. The investments are made in anticipation of future influence. This is simply how money influences politics.””””

    • Cruz could run; getting votes would be a different matter.

“Here’s the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz. I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.” – Senator Al Franken

“Lucifer in the flesh,” is how Republican former House Speaker John Boehner described Cruz, adding: “I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Lindsey Graham, Republican senator from South Carolina, famously said: “If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you.”

  2. Every time I see a photo of Jim I think of an Iron Maiden cover 🙂

This gangrene which is rotting the leg of American conservatives may well be fatal to them.

Here you have the perfect example of what a small group of legislative terrorists can do, even in an ultra-minority. They want to dictate their conditions, the gun to the head of their colleagues. They hate America, the idea they have of it only corresponds to outdated clichés, silent films. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a question of political orientation here, but of a way of practicing, living politics. These people refuse the results of the ballot boxes, refuse the opinion of the majority. It’s just that.

If the GOP doesn’t eviscerate itself they will disappear. For sure.

    • Now that Sydney Powell copped a plea bargain, quite a few other ruskie assets might be shaking in their boots.

    • No need to. He got kicked out of the door.

Republican congressmen voted by secret ballot to remove the candidacy of far-right Trump supporter Jim Jordan, who was running for speaker of the House of Representatives.

      • I was wary for a while after Steve Scalise gave up on his candidacy and the jerk, Jim, was up next. I’m very pleased that he’s history now. There is talk about letting McHenry be the speaker. He’s speaker now, on an interim basis. He’s very pro-Ukraine.

        • I don’t know what will become of Trump, but if he does get sent down, I believe MAGA would fade away into oblivion, giving the GOP chance to reunite.

          • Sooner or later, MAGA will indeed dry up and blow away in the wind. I just hope it will before it will bring down Ukraine.

            • IT was the American GOP and Democrats who brought this upon us in Ukraine in 2014, and even before. As long ago as 2005, when Obama was Senator, he was still trying to disarm us in Ukraine.

Be careful what you wish for

  3. “House Republicans have shared the following schedule regarding next steps in the speaker race and election:

The deadline for members to file their candidacy as speaker will be Sunday at noon ET.
The candidate forum will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Members will be able to make their case to the GOP conference.
The secret ballot leadership election will take place Tuesday 9 a.m. ET.” CNN

      • Hopefully, the mainstream Republicans will hold firm against anyone from the “Freedumb cockus”, which should improve the odds of electing someone who supports Ukraine.
