Key facts and figures

Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery is a large Russian enterprise located in the Samara region, part of PJSC Rosneft. The design capacity is about 8.8 million tons of oil per year.

This plant produces over 20–30 types of commercial products, including motor fuels (gasoline, diesel fuel, in particular Euro-5 class), jet fuel (aviation gas), lubricants (in particular, for launch vehicles and automobiles), road bitumens, lubricating oil components, coke, and petrochemical products.

Impact on the Russian army

Novokuibyshevsk Refinery is of strategic importance for Russia’s military-industrial complex and the provision of its army. The enterprise is one of the main producers of high-grade jet fuel (aviation gas), which is critically important for the provision of combat aircraft.

In addition, the plant has mastered the production of lubricants for launch vehicles, which indicates its role in providing space and, probably, missile technology. Along with other refineries, the plant provides the Russian troops with motor fuel (gasoline and diesel fuel) for all types of ground and transport weapons.

Due to this strategic importance, the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery was repeatedly targeted by UAV attacks during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as damaging such facilities is aimed at undermining Russia’s military-industrial base and limiting its ability to supply troops with fuel and lubricants.

Let us remind you that on the night of November 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a successful operation on the territory of the aggressor country . In particular, effective strikes were carried out on a military plant in Cheboksary.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the day before, the General Staff reported on the destruction of a number of strategic Russian facilities . Among them are an aircraft repair plant, an A-60 aircraft and a UAV production facility in Taganrog, as well as an oil terminal and refinery in the Kuban.
