Red telephone booths were installed in the Novosibirsk colony. So that prisoners can communicate in the “atmosphere of London”

Photo from Colony number IK-8

A piece of London has appeared in the Novosibirsk correctional colony number 8 (IK-8): the famous red booths with the inscription “Telephone” were installed in the premises for telephone calls. The walls were decorated with the image of a clock on the tower of Westminster Palace, that is, “Big Ben”.

All of this is needed to “maximize the atmosphere of London”, in which prisoners must restore “socially beneficial ties and [exercise] the right to telephone conversations.”
