Anyone who says that NATO provoked russia to attack Ukraine is either stupid, brainwashed or simply doesn’t know the history.
Until 2013, only about 20-30% of Ukrainians (depending on the poll) were in favor of joining NATO. After the annexation of Crimea, that number went up to more than 50%. And now, after the full scale invasion, close to 90% of Ukrainians say that they want Ukraine to join NATO.
Also, it was russian aggression that forced Sweden and Finland to join NATO. It is russian aggression that has prompted other countries to join NATO not “NATO’s expansion” forcing russia to attack the neighboring countries.
Even the infamous interview of propagandist Tucker Carlson with Putin showed that russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 had nothing to do with NATO. It had all to do with Putin’s obsession with the breakup of Kyivan Rus in the 12th century and USSR in the 20th century. He can’t accept that Ukrainians are a nation, thus he wants to erase Ukraine from existence.

I´m Finnish and I fully agree with you Roman. Prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Finland and Sweden were happily neutral non-NATO countries. Russia´s sudden and vicious attack against Ukraine made us Finns collectively realize, that Finland could just as well have been the target of Russia´s hostilities. We of course have extensive prior experience of Russia´s extremely aggressive military behaviour, as we were attacked by the Soviet Union/Russia(no difference) in 1939 and again in 1941. Thanks to the well trained Finnish Army and to its Supreme Commander Marshal Count Carl Gustav Emil Mannerheim, we were able to keep the Red Devil at bay.

And after two years of genocide, it still has members that function as part of the putler war effort. Orbanistan and Slovakia are the main ones, but also not to be trusted are Montenegro and Spain, which has just recognized putler-owned hellhole “Palestine” as a country. Furthermore, Catalonian nationalists have emerged as putlerites.
Further to the comment by Kai Marcus Auero, he neglects to mention that Finland did not come out of the “Winter War” unscathed. Far from it : in fact they had to cede vast tracts of land to Russia, such as most of Karelia.
Ukraine cannot and must not be forced to give land to the putler murder gang and its hellish citizens.
True, Scradge. And it wasn’t only about land theft, Russia had put Finland’s government in a stranglehold for defades! There’s a reason why “Finlandization” doesn’t have a positive meaning. No real democrat should wish that for Ukraine! ☹
