Putin’s spokesman says russia does not need Ukraine’s consent for May 9 truce

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the russian leader, stated that russia does not need Ukraine’s consent to declare a ceasefire on May 9.

He made this statement on April 30, according to russian media reports.

“Russia does not need a response from Kyiv to declare a ceasefire before Victory Day,” he said.

According to Peskov, this is a decision by russian dictator vladimir putin, and it will be implemented. He also stated that putin will determine the dates on which the ceasefire announced by the russian side will be in effect until May 9, but no decision has been made yet.

Among other things, the russian dictator’s press secretary called the holiday special and therefore considers such “humanitarian initiatives” as a ceasefire to be relevant.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Ukrainian negotiators to clarify with the US the details of russia’s proposal for a ceasefire on May 9.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin on April 29 and stated that an agreement to end the war in Ukraine is close. He also said that he had proposed a “short ceasefire” to the kremlin leader.

Ukraine don’t need a permission from mafia land to ignore it.
