The theory about the dictator’s biological mother cannot be verified.

The childhood of Russian ruler Vladimir Putin is shrouded in secrets and legends. According to one version, his stepfather could have been Georgian.

As Russian-American journalist and researcher of Putin’s childhood, Julia Ioffe, reported in an interview with Radio Liberty, the dictator could not have been raised by his own fathers. According to her, there is an alternative history of Putin’s birth and early childhood.

“As far as I understand, there was a Russian woman who said that she gave birth to this child from a Russian, I think out of wedlock, and then married a Georgian, moved to Georgia with young Volodya Putin. His stepfather treated him terribly and basically did not perceive the child, whom we now know as Vladimir Putin, as his own,” Ioffe noted.

According to this theory, his mother gave him to distant relatives in Leningrad… That is why the people who are called Putin’s parents were much older. There is no other way to explain why his parents are so much older.

“I know that she (Putin’s probable biological mother – UNIAN) talked a lot about this to foreign journalists, and people said that she even looked like him. I don’t know,” Ioffe said.

The interviewer confirmed that the resemblance was “uncanny.” However, it is now impossible to confirm or deny this.

Little Putin had no toys as a child. He chased rats for fun. He grew up in the yard, interacting with other children.

“All these interactions were centered around physical force and violence and a very strict social hierarchy. And that was your entertainment. And also learning to read people… You can’t hide from your past or hide a lot of things… It’s not so much about the toys and the rats, but the poverty and the misery of that era and how it taught this generation that wealth is not guaranteed, that it can always be worse… That’s why his palace in Gelendzhik looks like that… I think people who grew up with money tend not to decorate their houses like that,” Ioffe said.
