Putin’s Own Air Defense Is DESTROYING Moscow | Pfarrer & Smart

July 24, 2026

Ukraine is taking the war directly to Russia, and Moscow’s heavily defended airspace has just been breached. More than 400 Ukrainian drones approached the capital over 8.5 hours, forcing airport restrictions and disrupting mobile networks, digital payments, transport, and commerce. The fires were only the visible damage. Every incoming wave forces the Kremlin to choose between leaving major targets exposed and shutting down parts of the city it must protect most.

Former Navy SEAL squadron leader Chuck Pfarrer joins Jason Jay Smart to explain why Moscow cannot defend itself without weakening Russia elsewhere. Air-defense systems pulled toward the capital leave the front line, occupied Crimea, military industry, rail hubs, warehouses, and supply routes more vulnerable. Russia may intercept individual drones, but it cannot stop the disruption. Each alert burns resources, interrupts business, and raises the permanent cost of protecting Vladimir Putin’s political center.

Moscow is now consuming defenses Russia urgently needs at the front. Russia’s territorial progress has fallen 94% as artillery losses rise and the logistics network behind the invasion struggles with rail debt, fuel shortages, grounded aircraft, and failing roads. The breach of Moscow is not a separate story. It shows how Ukraine is stripping away the defenses, distance, and transport capacity Russia needs to sustain the invasion or recover from its losses.
