Russian singer Valeria, who supports dictator Vladimir Putin in the war against Ukraine, performed a song about her homeland against the backdrop of buildings destroyed by Russian occupiers. The Ministry of Culture will contact the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) because of this.

This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi,  Censor.NET reports .

He called the video the best explanation of why sanctions against Russian cultural figures are a matter of national security for Ukraine and why Soviet cultural heritage must be decommunized.

“The melody is guessed without sound. Putin’s favorite singer sings. The music is folk, the words are folk too. Because this is the essence of Russian culture. Praising your homeland against the backdrop of a destroyed city, perhaps as a result of war crimes, is Russian culture,” the minister noted.

According to him, the “homeland” in the understanding of Russians begins with occupation and mass deportations.

He also added that “bombed cities are the scenery on which Russian culture flourishes best.”

“The ICSC will contact the SBU regarding the location of the recording of this performance and the subsequent opening of proceedings in case of violation of the sanctions regime that prohibits Valeria from entering Ukraine,” Tochytskyi summarized.

The authors of the video did not explain in which locality Valeria filmed her next propaganda video. It could be either the Ukrainian territory occupied and destroyed by the Russian Federation, or the territory of Kursk, the villages and cities of which Russian troops also mercilessly destroyed and bombed, trying to oust Ukrainian military personnel from there.

However, the publication “Sirena” claims that the video was recorded among the scenery of the Brest Fortress in the “Moskino” film pavilion.
