According to Ushakov, the US president supported Putin’s proposal.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared his readiness to “declare a truce for Victory Day.” He informed US leader Donald Trump about this by phone, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

According to him, the conversation lasted more than an hour and a half.

“Donald Trump positively assessed the Easter truce recently announced by Russia. In this regard, Vladimir Putin informed his American colleague of his readiness to declare a truce for the period of the Victory Day celebrations,” Ushakov said.

He claims that Trump “actively supported this initiative.”

According to Ushakov, the US president told Putin that an agreement to “resolve the conflict in Ukraine is already close.”

“Putin strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Trump and expressed support to the US president in this regard. The Russian president believes that Trump’s decision to extend the ceasefire with Iran is correct. Moscow considers the option of a US ground operation against Iran to be dangerous,” he said.

Putin told Trump that Russian troops were supposedly “holding the initiative and pushing back enemy positions.” Ushakov added:

“Trump and Putin expressed similar assessments of the behavior of the authorities led by Volodymyr Zelensky, stating that he is prolonging the conflict.”

  1. To hell with this rat and his fascist-terrorist regime! I hope Ukraine will visit the stupid parade with drones and missiles.

    • So it took 90 minutes for putler to ask TACO to pressure Ukraine into some kind of truce. Fuck both of them.

      • Trump was also asked which he thought would end the war first, Iran or Ukraine. He replied that Ukraine had supposedly already “suffered defeat” on the battlefield, but mentioned “the destruction of 159 ships,” likely referring to Iran.

        Trump: Ukraine lost the war.

        • Be careful Sir Veth, we don’t want to spread disinformation here. This is from CBS news:
“Trump appeared to briefly confuse the situations, stating he thought “Ukraine, militarily, they’re defeated,” when he likely meant to refer to Iran, which he has described as being “defeated” and having its leadership gone.”
Trump is often confused and mixes topics constantly, for sure.

      • I was hoping Ukraine would not agree to a ceasefire last year, I’m hoping they won’t this year.

  2. A truce needs both sides to agree. I don’t see Ukraine agreeing to a truce for putler’s laughable military parade.

    • This will never happen and it shouldn’t. To make things even more interesting, remember Ukraine now celebrates Victory Day on 8 May. Fitting. Ukraine can have their celebrations in small groups like last year and then light up the fucking Kremlin and Red Square the next day.

      • Just like putler launched 100s of drones against Ukraine at Easter. May 9 means nothing to Ukraine.

        • Or, Zelensky can call putler’s bluff and agree to it knowing Ukraine’s celebration is the day before and will surely violate it. Then Zelensky will have an even better reason to light them up.
This also proves putler could stop his war any time he wants to even with his communications problems.

  3. Absolutely not!
In fact Ukraine should conduct bombing in moscow so that the ther eare explosions in the background.
The only way Zelensky should agree to it is if Russia returns More POWs and kidnapped children.
Frame it as “Putin plays with toys while Zelensky saves lives.”
