In a telephone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin expressed interest in investigating the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

The situation surrounding the hospitalization of Oleksiy Navalny was also discussed. The Russian side stressed the inadmissibility of hasty and unfounded accusations in this regard and expressed the interest in a thorough and unbiased investigation of all the circumstances of the incident,” the statement said.

As we reported earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Germany’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas are demanding that the Russian authorities investigate and punish those responsible for the poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Given Mr. Navalny’s prominent role in the political opposition in Russia, the authorities are now urging to clarify this act to the smallest detail – and in full transparency. Those responsible must be identified and brought to justice,” their joint statement said.

Problem is Vlad, nobody outside of Russia will believe a word you say. Once a liar, always a liar, but you are on safe ground, with Germany involved, nothing will happen. A lot of hot air will be expelled, a few tut tuts, then everything will be back to normal.

  2. Investigating who to blame and divert attention away from the real culprit.
