Russian President Vladimir Putin actually announced Russia’s withdrawal from the Minsk agreements on a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas. He noted that the agreements no longer exist.
He made the corresponding statement at a press conference on February 22.
“Through the efforts of the current Kiev authorities, everything was brought to naught, so the Minsk agreements were killed long before yesterday’s recognition of the “people’s republics” of Donbass … The leadership of Ukraine began to publicly declare that it was not going to fulfill these agreements, what can I say. And the first persons about they said, what to expect next? … Now the Minsk agreements do not exist, why implement them if we recognized the independence of these entities?” Putin said.
Recall that Putin announced today the recognition of the “constitutions” of the “LPR”, which means that Russia has recognized terrorist organizations within the Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine.
