Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is preparing for combat use a powerful nuclear missile capable of hitting both the United States and Great Britain.

As the New York Post writes , on Wednesday the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage of the new Yars nuclear missile. In the video, it is installed in the mine of the Kozelsk military complex in the Kaluga region.

The ICBM has a range of 7,500 miles. Yars is a modification of the Topol-M missile complex, which was first launched in 2009. According to the publication, it was installed at the launch site of the mine with the help of a special transport and loading unit.

Russian propagandists claim that the Yars missile complex has a power “12 times greater than the American bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.” In October, amid high tensions over the war with Ukraine, Putin oversaw the launch of a similar missile.

The commander of the Russian Missile Forces, Colonel Oleksiy Sokolov, said that the latest exercise was supposed to be a signal to the West, since both the US and Europe are in the range of the missile.

“The motherland will receive another missile and nuclear weapon that will allow solving any strategic-level tasks,” Sokolov said.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that it took several hours for the missile to be installed in the mine using a special transport and loading unit. Reconstruction is underway at the Kozelsk missile base.

Russia’s nuclear threats – what is known

Since February 24, Moscow has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine and its allies. The mass media reported that in the spring Russian officials discussed the  use of nuclear weapons .

On December 7, President Vladimir Putin declared that  “the threat of nuclear war is growing” and clarified that the Kremlin is not the first to use such weapons.

In turn, the US State Department  called Putin’s new “nuclear” threats “empty” . At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelensky  does not believe that  Putin will decide on a nuclear strike

  1. Personally, I am far, far more worried about the cost of toilet paper.

We did the whole arms race thing decades ago.

So the question is, if terrorists get nuclear weapons, do you compromise and negotiate knowing they will never relent and the threat will never be gone or do you use conventional means to oppose them.
