Kremlin leader Putin said the Russian Federation is ready to cooperate with the United States in the field of rare earth metals .

During a meeting devoted to this topic, he stated that the Russian Federation is one of the world leaders in rare earth metal reserves and is ready to work with foreign partners in the field of their development, including in the occupied territories of Ukraine:

“Russia has an order of magnitude more rare earth metals than Ukraine, and Moscow is ready to offer them to interested partners.”

Putin said that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States on mineral resources “does not concern” Russia in any way, but immediately suggested “assessing the resources” before signing it.

The Kremlin ruler also made several critical statements about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, the Ukrainian leader’s rating is “exactly two times lower” than that of former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny, which is why he “dodges” negotiations to end the war.

Putin added that Zelensky “has driven himself into a dead end” by signing a decree banning negotiations with him, and is also allegedly becoming a toxic figure for Ukrainian military personnel.

Minerals Agreement

Let us recall that the new White House administration presented Ukraine with a draft agreement on the joint development of rare earth metals. The issue is about providing the American side with access to Ukrainian reserves of minerals.

The terms of the agreement have been controversial because Washington demanded a significant share of the profits from the extraction of these resources, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes is unfair.

In addition, Kyiv insists on providing clear security guarantees within the framework of the agreement, since the Russian Federation could attack Ukraine even after the conclusion of peace.
