Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has signed a law that expands the scope of contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry. The document reduces the list of crimes, convictions, or criminal prosecutions that previously made it impossible to serve under a contract during mobilization.

This is reported by  Censor.NET with reference to Russian media.

As noted, Russia has changed the list of crimes for which a criminal record or criminal prosecution previously did not allow concluding a contract with the Ministry of Defense during the mobilization period.

A number of compounds were excluded from the list of restrictions:

• Crimes of minor and moderate severity.
• Certain crimes in the field of weapons and explosives trafficking, violations of safety regulations, as well as some types of military and transport crimes.

Some restrictions remain

At the same time, people with a criminal record or criminal cases under serious articles – including terrorism, treason, espionage, sabotage, extremism, pedophilia, extortion, and other crimes against the state and public security – will still not be able to conclude a contract.

As ASTRA notes, previously, leaders of terrorist organizations, bandits, and drug traffickers were allowed to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense. It was decided to create special units for them. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4016900
