Putin arrived in Kursk region in military uniform and made a number of statements

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has visited the region for the first time since the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the territory of the Kursk region. Footage of his visit is published by Russian media.

It is noted that the Russian ruler met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov in the Kursk region and held a meeting with the command. Putin and Gerasimov made a number of statements.

Gerasimov reported that the Russian army allegedly liberated 86% of the territory of the Kursk region, which was occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He said that “Kyiv wanted to create a strategic bridgehead in the Kursk region and pull Russian forces here from Donbass,” but these plans allegedly failed.

Gerasimov also voiced his own version of the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region: according to him, it is 67 thousand people.

He added that over the past five days the Russian army has allegedly recaptured 24 settlements and 259 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region. According to him, in some sections of the border Russian troops entered the Sumy region.

Meanwhile, Putin said that the Russian army’s task is to “defeat the enemy” in the Kursk region as soon as possible. He also ordered that consideration be given to creating a “security zone” along the border.

The Russian dictator assured that Russia will treat the Ukrainian soldiers captured in the Kursk region “as terrorists.”
