The Russian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul on May 15 will be led by Volodymyr Medinsky.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order on the composition of the Russian delegation for negotiations with Ukraine in Turkey. The document was published by the Kremlin press service.

The delegation will be headed by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian president. He will be accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin, and Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Igor Kostyukov. The document does not mention the Russian president himself.

He also approved the composition of “experts” for negotiations with Ukraine:

• Zorin A.S. – First Deputy Chief of Information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation;
• Podobreevskaya EC – Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation for State Policy in the Humanitarian Sphere;
• Polishchuk A.A. – Director of the Second Department of the CIS Countries of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
• Shevtsov V.I. – Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Negotiations in Turkey – who will be from Ukraine?

The Ukrainian delegation that will fly to Istanbul includes government representatives . In particular, as media reported with reference to sources close to the president, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, plans to go there.

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Zelensky’s diplomatic advisor Ihor Zhovkva are also planning to travel to Turkey. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga is already there.
