Residents of the self-proclaimed “DPR” publicly appealed to the Kremlin dictator to solve the water problem.

Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin raised the issue of water supply problems at a meeting with the so-called head of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” Denis Pushilin on Monday, August 4, the BBC’s Russian service reports .

According to Pushilin, currently the residents of occupied Donetsk have water in their apartments only once every 3-4 days. According to the head of the self-proclaimed “DPR”, this situation allegedly arose due to the “water blockade from Ukraine”.

However, as the publication points out, the Kremlin leader told Pushilin that, according to his information, there are also technical problems. He added that the constructed water pipeline from Rostov-on-Don allegedly never reached its planned capacity. In addition, according to Putin, there are also large losses of water during transportation.

In 2023, the occupation authorities began construction of the Don-Donetsk Canal. However, according to local residents, it never started working properly.

For at least four months now, not only in occupied Donetsk, but also throughout the entire territory of the so-called “DPR”, there has been a problem with water supply. People have called the situation a humanitarian catastrophe and publicly appealed to Putin.Read also:

The occupation authorities organized water delivery to residents of the occupied settlements. According to the data, water tankers were even sent to Donbass from Moscow.

The water supply to Donbass was previously provided mainly by the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, whose pipes, pumping stations and other equipment were repeatedly hit by Russian army fire. And in the fall of 2024, critical damage occurred, due to which the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government faced a water shortage.
