Parliamentary elections in Armenia have concluded, with nearly 59% of eligible
voters taking part. As of the morning of June 8, official results have not yet been announced, but preliminary data published by local media indicate that the party of incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is in the lead.
The official himself stated this, emphasizing that the Civil Agreement party, which he heads, has enough votes to independently form a government. This was reported by the Armenian service of Radio Liberty.
“I want to emphasize that the Civil Contract party received the votes of a larger number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, a vote of confidence of a larger number of citizens compared to 2021,” Pashinyan said.

High voter turnout
This figure is one of the highest in recent years. After the 2017 revolution, 61% of voters came to the polls. In 2018, the turnout was 48.63%, and in the 2021 elections – 49%.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Armenia, Vahagn Hovakimyan, explained the high level of citizen activity by the significant interest in the country’s political life and the active campaign of the race participants.
“We have a high turnout throughout the republic, let’s say, everywhere. In 2021, our turnout was approximately 49%, and now it is 58.97%. This is a high turnout. The reason is the good campaigning of the parties participating in the elections,” said Hovakimyan.
Previous results
No official exit polls were conducted in Armenia. However, News.am, citing independent poll data, reported on the preliminary distribution of votes between the race leaders.
According to these data, Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party is gaining 32.7% of the vote and is in first place. In second place is Samvel Karapetyan’s pro-Russian Strong Armenia bloc with 29%. These figures remain unofficial until the results are announced by the Central Election Commission.
During conversations with journalists, many residents of the country spoke about expectations for change, stability, and security after the elections.
“Elections. We have to be responsible for this – who we elect, why we elect, etc. So that no one elects anyone or anything instead of us,” said Yerevan resident Artem.
One of the residents of the capital of Armenia, Astghik Sargsyan, noted that she supports preserving the country’s sovereignty and developing cooperation with European states while maintaining a balance in relations with neighbors.
According to preliminary data from Armenian media, the main contenders for victory were Nikol Pashinyan and Samvel Karapetyan. The latter was detained last year for calls to seize power, but his political force was allowed to participate in the elections.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on the eve of the elections in Armenia, the country’s Central Election Commission refused to recognize the registration of the pro-Russian party “Strong Armenia” as invalid. The corresponding request, submitted for consideration by the political force “Republic”, was rejected unanimously.

This is another diplomatic defeat for the terrorist state of mafia land.
This is very good, but makes Armenia vulnerable to attack.
Azerbaijan won’t be attacked because putler won’t mess with Turkey.
Georgia won’t be attacked as long as the Ivanishvili dictatorship remains in control, but should the democrats achieve a breakthrough, they will be in putler’s crosshairs yet again.
We’ll see what happens, if mafia land has the strength to attack or not.
I think that’s a key issue…does Russia have the ability to start another front? Not based on what I’ve been reading.
