The reason for the absence of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in public space is a heart attack.
Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko writes about this in his Telegram channel.
“Shoigu has a heart attack. Therefore, he has not appeared in public since mid-March. Shoigu had a heart attack after a tough presentation by Putin for the complete failure of the invasion of Ukraine . Now he is undergoing rehabilitation at the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after N. N. Burdenko,” – Gerashchenko says.

Hmm… well I’d rather like to continue entertaining myself with the idea that perhaps putin is responsible. Even if it is a heart attack. Heart attacks are sometimes caused by extreme stress, after all.
It would probably be even more entertaining if there’s also some kind stressful mental breakdown too. With shouting, and tears, and what would be expected from a 3 year-old. Basically what dictators usually do when they’re being “emotional,” but having little effect.

That’s very old Soviet-style methodology to get rid of someone without wanting to admit that they are really in a gulag or just permanently removed from his or her post.
