Powerful explosions have been heard in the city of Gelendzhik in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia. According to preliminary information, the settlement and a military unit in it were under attack.
After the strikes, fires and thick smoke were recorded in the city. This was reported on social media.

According to available information, the explosions occurred on August 8. After that, smoke rose in one of the areas of the city, which may indicate a hit and a fire.
Eyewitnesses report loud explosions, followed by visible flames.
It has been previously reported that Gelendzhik could have been under attack by strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, there is currently no official confirmation of this information.
Due to the danger of drone attacks, all beaches in the city are closed, said the head of Gelendzhik, Alexey Bogodistov. According to him, beaches in the Kabardino-Balkaria and Divnomorsky districts are also closed to visitors.
Later it became known that as a result of the attack, yesterday’s ship near Gelendzhik was hit again.
It is known that the explosion occurred in the area of military unit No. 2156 and the adjacent military training ground, where the Russian FSB border service is located.
The Ukrainian Osint community claims that the Defense Forces destroyed the Russian electronic warfare complex “Volna Kupol Garant” in Gelendzhik, as evidenced by satellite images of military unit 2156 on August 7.

“Volna Kupol Garant” is a Russian electronic warfare system designed to suppress Starlink satellite communications. The system creates directional radio interference towards the satellite, preventing it from receiving signals from ground terminals.

On August 7, a local warehouse of the Wildberries marketplace was attacked in Yekaterinburg. As a result of the hits, a fire broke out and smoke rose at the facility, and the staff was evacuated.
