On Sunday, January 5, powerful explosions were heard in Kursk. Russians complained on social media about a “massive raid.”
Video of the attack was published by local social media. Details of the explosions are being clarified.

It is worth recalling that on January 5, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a new offensive in the Kursk region. In several directions, our soldiers attacked the military of the aggressor country. Russian propagandists complain about the offensive of Ukrainian defenders with armored vehicles and their advance near Sudzha towards the village of Velikiy Soldatske.
As OBOZ.UA reported, in the morning briefing on January 5, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that the Kursk direction is currently one of the hottest on the front. There, the Defense Forces repelled 30 attacks during the day. At the same time, the enemy launched nine airstrikes with 19 anti-aircraft guns and carried out 265 artillery attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements.
On the evening of January 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that in the Kursk region over the past two days, an infantry battalion consisting of North Korean soldiers and Russian marines had been destroyed. The enemy suffered the greatest losses near Makhnovka.
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian special forces in the Kursk region occupied a village that was held by North Korean soldiers together with Russians. The SSO soldiers cleared the settlement of enemy forces.

Something big’s happening in Kursk, so it seems.
Are these powerful explosions in the Kursk region, or the city itself? The videos seem to show built up areas, so maybe it is the city.
I’m not quite sure yet.
