VLADIMIR PUTIN has signed a law which will allow him to seize funds from the bank accounts of officials, according to reports.
Under the law, the President would be able to take funds where bank deposits are “significantly higher” than the owner’s declared income over the past three years, the BBC reported. This is perhaps a sign Western sanctions against Russia following its invasion of Ukraine have forced Putin’s hand, leading him to desperate measures to keep his country’s economy afloat. Sanctions have crippled the Russian economy, with long queues forming around Moscow banks as people try and withdraw money.

Putin bypassed the usual presidential bureaucratic support and substituted it with the Mafiosi and oligarchy. Now he is attacking them and isolating himself at the same time.
