MP, fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to immediately convene the National Security and Defense Council with the participation of the leaders of parliamentary factions, as well as an extraordinary meeting of Parliament on Saturday with the leadership of the security bloc.

“Friday evening brought a lot of new disturbing information about Russia’s readiness for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The sources, unfortunately, are so serious that it is unacceptable to neglect them, even being optimists… The duty of politicians is to take all urgent measures to protect the country and people from the worst scenario. In addition, a demonstration of our readiness for defense may well prevent such a scenario, ”the press service of the European Solidarity party quotes Poroshenko.

In his opinion, it is necessary to develop a unified action plan to protect the country.

“We have such a plan, and we are ready to present it to the National Security and Defense Council,” the politician said.

He also demanded to convene an extraordinary meeting of parliament on Saturday, to which the president, defense minister, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, and intelligence leaders should be invited.

“The Verkhovna Rada must change the calendar schedule and be ready to pass the necessary laws non-stop, as it was in 2014. With this demand, we are going to Ruslan Stefanchuk at 8.30 am,” Poroshenko said.

In addition, according to the fifth president, the government should submit proposals to increase defense spending during the day.
