Doctors are fighting for the lives of law enforcement officers.

An explosion occurred in Mykolaiv , injuring seven employees of the Patrol Police Department.

This was stated by Ivan Vyhivskyi , head of the National Police of Ukraine. According to him, today, February 23, at 6:10 p.m., an explosion occurred in the city of Mykolaiv on the territory of a non-working gas station.

“As a result, seven employees of the Patrol Police Department who arrived for their shift and parked their cars there were injured,” he said.

Vyhivskyi added that two of them are in serious condition. Doctors are fighting for the lives of the law enforcement officers.

“The day before yesterday, a terrorist attack against police officers took place in Lviv. This is not a coincidence. The enemy is purposefully trying to kill Ukrainian police officers, who protect the people and the state every day. We view these events as a targeted attack on the law and order system and destabilization of the situation within the country,” the police chief said.

Updated: Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the first reports from law enforcement agencies regarding the explosion in Mykolaiv have already been received.

“National Police officers were injured – seven people were injured, two of them in serious condition. They are being provided with the necessary assistance. All circumstances are being clarified. In particular, the version regarding a terrorist act is being checked,” he wrote.

In addition, the head of state added that he instructed the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine to inform the public about the necessary details.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, in a comment to ” RBK-Ukraine “, noted that explosives technicians are currently working at the scene. Details are being clarified as to what exactly caused the explosion.

“At the moment, I am most interested in the condition of the patrol officers. I have instructed them to decide now whether someone needs to be transported to Kyiv for treatment. I am constantly being reported to, I am keeping an eye on them. We will keep you informed,” he said.
